The 20 gauge Terumo needles are thin wall (TW) needles- which makes them easier to insert in the skin and allows the fluid to flow faster.  Although the label has changed to Thin Wall (TW), these are the exact same needles that were previously labeled as Ultra Thin Wall needles. The label has changed, the product has not. Terumo needles are the needles of choice for administering sub-cutaneous fluids. Many consider 20 gauge needles may be the most appropriate gauge for cats and small dogs. Flow rate for 100ml- 1:59.

Thin wall needles

Just started using these thin wall needles and they have made such a difference in administering SubQ fluids to our 16 yr old cat with kidney disease. She barely reacts to inserting needle and it takes much less time to administer the fluids. So much better for her and makes us feel better.

Exceptional Needles!

These thin-walled Terumo Needles are everything they are cracked up to be in all the positive pet parent testimonies and promotional materials. They are exceptional quality, easy to inject, painless, and efficient with a quick flow and steady drip. Using them compared to other needles is like night and day. I am so grateful to have them—they don’t hurt my cat in any way and make her subcutaneous fluids sessions a very manageable and tolerable experience. I am very pleased with these needles and highly recommend them!

Opinion on Terumo needles

I am very happy with my purchase. $14 for 100 needles is great. I did read somewhere, and I can't remember where, that 20 gauge, 1-inch needles would make the fluid flow faster. I have a cat that I give subQs to, and the 3/4-inch needles that I had, it took about 6-7 minutes to dispense, and I read that the 1-inch needles would go much faster, like 1-2 minutes. THIS IS NOT TRUE. She takes 150 mls a day of fluid, and it still takes me 6-7 minutes to dispense this much fluid. However, $14 for 100 needles is MUCH cheaper than getting needles from the vet. So I am happy with purchase.
