The 20 gauge Terumo needles are thin wall (TW) needles- which makes them easier to insert in the skin and allows the fluid to flow faster. Although the label has changed to Thin Wall (TW), these are the exact same needles that were previously labeled as Ultra Thin Wall needles. The label has changed, the product has not. Terumo needles are the needles of choice for administering sub-cutaneous fluids. Many consider 20 gauge needles may be the most appropriate gauge for cats and small dogs. Flow rate for 100ml- 1:59.

I am very happy with my purchase. $14 for 100 needles is great. I did read somewhere, and I can't remember where, that 20 gauge, 1-inch needles would make the fluid flow faster. I have a cat that I give subQs to, and the 3/4-inch needles that I had, it took about 6-7 minutes to dispense, and I read that the 1-inch needles would go much faster, like 1-2 minutes. THIS IS NOT TRUE. She takes 150 mls a day of fluid, and it still takes me 6-7 minutes to dispense this much fluid. However, $14 for 100 needles is MUCH cheaper than getting needles from the vet. So I am happy with purchase.
We have used Thriving Pets on and off for many years when our cats get older and have renal issues. The entire process of ordering supplies is quick and efficient. My RX was quickly approved and shipped. Best place to get Terumo needles!

Great product, glad to have found thriving pets.
They came like a week before the fluids/tubing I ordered from the vet portal finally arrived, which was a relief because I've never ordered from ThrivingPets and was nervous. My cat is pretty good at drawing just as much blood from the vet as they do from her when there's a needle involved, but so far we've done about 4-5 subQ sessions with nothing worse than a concerned look back (admittedly, the squeeze-up treats help). It does seem to fit on the tubing kind of awkwardly and I'm still trying to figure out how to keep the fluids going consistently and quickly, but I'm new to this). These are the needles everyone online seems to recommend and I'm glad I picked them over the default ones from the vet. Hopefully we can keep my ckd kitty going strong!
